In the six years that Instabox has existed we have managed to grow from a small Swedish logistics startup to one of the most recognizable names in the last mile space in the Nordics. Our journey has taken us from our home market in Sweden to Denmark, Norway and most recently the Netherlands. As you might be able to tell from the title of this role, we have no plans on stopping here... This expansion inherently involves expertise from all of our departments which needs to be coordinated in order to ensure a smooth entry into new geographical areas. That is why we are currently on the hunt for a senior Business Developer who will be focusing their efforts on leading this process as we continue to grow. Hopefully that is where you come in….

What you will be doing
From the first two paragraphs of this ad it would be easy to assume that we are looking for a straight-up project manager. In part that is true, but with added complexity. To put it bluntly: your main tasks will be to develop and implement comprehensive strategies enabling our growth into new markets. 

This will entail leading the formulation, preparation, and communication of strategic and operational business plans relating to all new market launches. That was like seven buzzwords in one sentence so let's break it down: A lot of people all over Instabox are involved in a new market launch, your job will be to ensure that we are prioritizing our efforts wisely, that everyone knows what they are supposed to do, and ensure that it is done on time.

In order to achieve this you will need to structure and guide our expansion projects, developing guiding principles and ways of working in order to mobilize and lead teams so that we all row in the same direction and pace. This will entail communicating our roadmap to the broader organisation and collaborating closely with executives and key stakeholders across Instabox to ensure we gain most traction. Ultimately it will be your recommendations and strategic decisions that will enable us to deliver on our growth ambitions exponentially. Some might consider this project management, when done correctly however it bears a closer resemblance to magic in our eyes. 

Who you are
In order to be successful in this role you will need to have proven experience in strategy formulation and complex operational problem solving. Your background may be from consulting or a similar line role at a rapidly growing company where you have coordinated a lot of moving parts in order to achieve a tangible result. You are highly independent in thinking and framing problems and have outstanding communication skills, both verbally and in writing. The ability to create high impact material that gets to the root of a problem, as well as the ability to engage colleagues at all levels of the organisation to solve problems will be important parts of your toolkit. Moreover we would like to see evidence of the following when we meet you: 

  • A track record that showcases your ability to build efficient collaboration among cross-functional teams, and to drive complex projects forward at a high pace.
  • Experience from synthesizing data into useful formats and bring actionable insights - straddling between nitty gritty details and higher-level implications of critical business issues.
  • An ability to work in a high pace environment, and quickly adapt to changing circumstances
  • Confidence and experience that allows you to bring complex dilemmas to closure, to make a decision with the right amount of data.
